CARICOM ICT Heads of Government established the Caribbean Telecommunications Union in Nassau, The Bahamas.

Initial Headquarters established in Barbados under supervision of an interim Secretary General

The first CTU Secretariat was temporarily located at the Eric Williams Financial Complex in Trinidad and Tobago.
