Telecommunications Regulatory Commission
The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) establishes and monitors the implementation of national telecommunications standards and ensures compliance, and is responsible for the regulation of licenses and authorisation holders and for ensuring fair competition among licensees and all operators of telecommunications networks or providers of telecommunications services.
The Government of the Virgin Islands is seeking qualified persons to fill the following position: BOARD MEMBER.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATES EMBODY THE FOLLOWING QUALITIES:
• Possess the requisite leadership skills and experience in sectors directly relevant to the Commission’s functions and responsibilities.
• Be capable and willing to attend scheduled Board meetings and actively contribute to discussions.
• Attend meetings and make a substantial active contribution to Board deliberations.
• Partner with Board members to ensure Board resolutions are carried out.
• Develop a good working relationship with other Board members and senior management.
• Demonstrate a commitment to confidentiality and good corporate governance.
• Think strategically, manage complexity, and act decisively.
• Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a group.
• Possess an innovative spirit and the ability to think outside the box.
TRAINING / SKILL / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Board Member must have commercial experience and acumen with substantial private sector business or past public sector experience ideally for a relevant environment in fields of expertise such as finance, law, economics, management, or other related business sector leadership.
