A PROPOS DU LANCEMENT DU PROJET CARIBIX

Le projet débutera avec un lancement virtuel qui aura lieu le 21 mars. 

À cette occasion, le Secrétaire-général du CTU, M. Rodney Taylor, prendra la parole ainsi que les représentants de la Guadeloupe, de Saint-Martin et de Saint-Barthélemy. M. Taylor et un représentant d’INTERREG Caraïbes signeront un accord pour le lancement officiel du projet.

QU’EST-CE QUE LE PROJET CARIBIX?

Le projet CaribIX consiste à mettre en place et développer des points d’échange Internet à Saint-Martin, à Saint-Barthélemy et en Guadeloupe. Dans le cadre du Projet CaribIX,  l’Union des Télécommunications des Caraïbes (Caribbean Telecommunications Union – CTU), une organisation régionale qui a été à l’avant-garde de la mise en place des points d’échange Internet dans les Caraïbes, coordonne les efforts. La CTU collabore avec Dauphin Telecom pour créer des points d’échange Internet.

QUI SONT LES PARTENAIRES DU PROJET CARIBIX?

Le partenaire d’exécution du projet au niveau regional est l’Union des Télécommunications des Caraïbes, qui coordonne le projet régional. Les partenaires d’exécution du projet au niveau national sont le Conseil Régional de Guadeloupe, TelEm Group et la Collectivité de Saint-Barthélemy.

ABOUT THE CARIBIX PROJECT LAUNCH    

The CaribIX Project will be formally launched on March 21st (AST) at a virtual event.

Mr. Rodney Taylor, Secretary-General of the CTU, will deliver remarks alongside country representatives from Guadeloupe, Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy. Mr Taylor also signed the project documents with a representative from INTERREG Caraïbes.    

WHAT IS THE CARIBIX PROJECT?    

The CARIBIX project aims to establish and develop Internet exchange points in the islands of Saint Martin, Saint Barthélemy and Guadeloupe. Under the auspices of the project, the Caribbean Telecommunications Union, a regional organisation which has been at the forefront of establishing Internet exchange points in the Caribbean, is coordinating the efforts. The CARIBIX Project is expected to be completed by October 2022.   

WHO ARE THE CARIBIX PROJECT PARTNERS?   

The project implementing partner is the Caribbean Telecommunications Union. Country-level project partners include the Regional Council of Guadeloupe, Telem Group and Collectivité de St Barthélemy.
