
Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago – 25th May 2026 – The Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU), through its Caribbean ICT Youth Network (CIYN), has opened applications for the CTU Internship Programme 2026, designed to provide young Caribbean students and emerging professionals with practical work-based learning opportunities in telecommunications and ICTs.
The CTU is a CARICOM Institution and regional intergovernmental organisation committed to advancing the development of the ICT sector in support of the economic and social development of the Caribbean. Through the CIYN, the CTU continues to create structured opportunities for young people to gain exposure to regional ICT policy, research, communications, stakeholder engagement and programme delivery.
The 2026 Internship Programme will support the CTU Secretariat and CIYN across several priority areas, including artificial intelligence, satellite communications, internet governance, data governance and protection, digital resilience, Member State research, communications and regional youth engagement.
The programme will offer internship opportunities for:
- Policy & Research Interns: These interns will support CTU’s ongoing policy development and research work, including technical studies, data analysis, dashboard development, stakeholder outreach, CIYN publications and event support
- Marketing & Communications Intern: This intern will support CTU’s communications work, including content creation, social media management, promotional materials, digital analytics, press releases and CIYN communications activities
The internship will be based in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, with working hours from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday. The programme is particularly suited to final-year or soon-to-be students in fields such as electrical engineering, computer science, international relations, management, marketing, communications and related disciplines. No prior work experience is required. The CTU strongly encourages applications from women and young people interested in contributing to the Caribbean’s digital development agenda.
