CTU ICT Week 2026 to Position the Caribbean for Global Digital Leadership

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago – 9 July 2026 – The Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU) is pleased to announce that its signature event, CTU ICT Week 2026 will take place in French Guiana from 20–24 September 2026, in collaboration with the Collectivité Territoriale de Guyane (CTG).

Held under the theme “Advancing Resilience, Inclusion, Cybersecurity and Innovation in Caribbean Digital Development,” the event will bring together ministers, policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, development partners, academia, civil society and youth to advance the Caribbean’s digital transformation agenda.

As the CTU’s flagship annual event that convenes ICT Ministers from its 21 Member States and Territories, ICT Week provides a premier platform for regional and international stakeholders to exchange knowledge, strengthen partnerships and shape ICT policy across the Caribbean. The 2026 edition is particularly significant as it will serve as a strategic regional milestone ahead of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Plenipotentiary Conference 2026 (PP-26), supporting greater Caribbean coordination and engagement on global ICT issues.

The 2026 theme reflects the region’s commitment to building resilient digital infrastructure, promoting digital inclusion, strengthening cybersecurity, embracing innovation and harnessing emerging technologies to support sustainable development. It also recognises French Guiana’s potentially strategic role within the Caribbean and the wider global digital ecosystem.

Throughout the week, participants will engage in a series of high-level meetings and discussions designed to advance regional cooperation and digital policy. The programme will include:

  • Statutory CTU Meetings, including the Conference of Ministers responsible for ICT.
  • The 24th Strategic ICT Ministerial Seminar, providing a forum for multistakeholder dialogue on regional ICT priorities and emerging technologies including expert presentations and panel discussions covering digital resilience, universal meaningful connectivity, artificial intelligence, data governance, digital government, the digital economy, innovation, workforce development and regional collaboration.
  • A platform for regional collaboration among ICT regulators
  • Innovation and networking activities showcasing Caribbean entrepreneurs and technology solutions.
  • Dedicated initiatives promoting the participation of women, youth, persons with disabilities and other key stakeholders in the region’s digital future.

The event is expected to attract government ministers, ICT regulators, telecommunications operators, technology companies, private sector leaders, development partners, researchers, civil society organisations and youth representatives from across the Caribbean and beyond.

By bringing together the region’s leading digital stakeholders, CTU ICT Week 2026 will continue to serve as a catalyst for collaboration, networking, policy development and innovation, reinforcing the role of ICTs in driving sustainable economic growth and digital transformation throughout the Caribbean.
