Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago and London, United Kingdom — 21st May 2025: The Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU) and GetSafeOnline have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) online to collaborate on advancing cybersecurity awareness and digital safety across the Caribbean region.
This strategic partnership brings together the CTU’s leadership and expertise in regional ICT policy development and its strong relationships and convening power with Caribbean governments, intergovernmental organisations and other stakeholders, with GetSafeOnline’s expertise in delivering impactful cybersecurity awareness campaigns throughout the world?
The MoU outlines a shared commitment to:
- Promote digital safety and responsible online behaviour across all sectors of society;
- Develop and implement region-wide awareness campaigns tailored to Caribbean needs;
- Support national and regional cybersecurity strategies through education and outreach; and
- Foster collaboration among public and private stakeholders to build a resilient digital ecosystem.
Speaking at the online signing ceremony, Rodney Taylor, Secretary-General of the CTU, stated, “The partnership with GetSafeOnline aligns perfectly with the CTU’s mission to accelerate the development of the information and knowledge-based societies in the Caribbean. Together, we will empower our citizens and institutions to navigate the digital world – safely and confidently.”
