Caribbean Youth in ICT — Fellowship Opportunity to attend ITUWTDC in Azerbaijan

World Telecommunication Development Conferences (WTDCs) are convened every four years by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to establish global priorities and strategies for advancing telecommunications and ICT development, with a particular focus on the needs of developing countries. WTDC-25 will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 17th to 28th November 2025, alongside the Global Youth Celebration (GYC-25), a dedicated platform for empowering youth to engage in digital policy and innovation. The CTU’s participation in WTDC-25 and GYC-25 is vital to ensuring that the perspectives and priorities of the Caribbean region are represented in shaping international ICT development agendas.

Through its Caribbean ICT Youth Network (CIYN), the CTU recognises the critical role of young people as digital natives and future leaders in shaping the region’s ICT landscape. The CIYN provides a platform for youth across the Caribbean to engage in policy discussions, build capacity, and contribute innovative solutions to the digital transformation of their societies. Their active participation and representation at international fora such as WTDC-25 and GYC-25 are essential to ensuring that Caribbean voices, particularly those of youth, are heard in global decision-making processes that will define the future of connectivity and digital development.

Selected fellows, must be active members of the CIYN, (registered CIYN Member and have attended at least one event in the past 12 months) and will not only receive full financial support but will also have the unique opportunity to accompany the CTU delegation, gaining first-hand exposure to high-level policy discussions and contributing youth perspectives to global dialogues. Fellows will benefit from a comprehensive support package, which includes round-trip airfare to Azerbaijan, hotel accommodation for the duration of the events, and a daily per diem to cover living expenses, ensuring their active and meaningful participation throughout both GYC-25 and WTDC-25.
