About the Event

Girls in ICT Day is a global observance initiated by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), celebrated on the fourth Thursday of April each year. The Day aims to raise awareness about the critical need to empower and encourage girls and young women to pursue studies and careers in information and communication technologies (ICT), while also inspiring government, private sector, and academia to create supportive and inclusive environments for them to thrive.

In 2025, the celebration is guided by the theme “Girls in ICT for Inclusive Digital Transformation”, which calls for the integration of girls and young women as both users and leaders in the digital economy. This theme underlines the importance of equitable access to digital education and innovation opportunities, ensuring that all girls across the Caribbean are equipped to actively contribute to and shape the region’s digital future.

The Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU), with the support of Restore A Sense of I Can (RSC), is pleased to host the CTU Girls in ICT Day 2025 event. This virtual celebration will provide a platform to inspire, educate and empower girls to pursue opportunities in STEM and ICT, while also engaging boys and youth allies who support gender equity in the digital sector.

Participants will benefit from inspiring presentations, mentorship opportunities, and practical guidance from women ICT professionals and entrepreneurs who are shaping the digital landscape in the Caribbean and beyond.
