5th Caribbean Youth Internet Governance Forum

Overview 

The Caribbean Youth Internet Governance Forum (CYIGF) is a regional, multi-stakeholder event, designed by youth, for youth. The CYIGF, launched in 2022, falls within the Caribbean Telecommunication Union’s digital inclusion strategy, to support the development and inclusion of youth within the Caribbean’s digital development.  

As the fifth edition of its kind, CYIGF-26 continues to fill gaps in youth representation within the internet governance space. It will give youth the opportunities to join in shaping the Caribbean’s digital agenda and become the changemakers of tomorrow. CYIGF-263 will feature presentations and panels on internet governance, digital inclusion and artificial intelligence from a youth perspective, from a variety of speakers, each with different backgrounds. CYIGF-26 is co-hosted with the Caribbean Internet Governance Forum (CIGF), for which all participants, youth and otherwise, are invited to attend.  

This session will explore how Grenada can move beyond connectivity to create meaningful digital opportunities for youth. Panelists will examine resources, skills and support needed to empower youth and highlight the collective role of stakeholders in building a safe, inclusive and opportunity-driven digital future.

Furthermore, it will explore the practical ways in which creators have overcome the existing barriers, and foster collaborative pathways to support the creation of jobs in the creative space.
